How address verification works in India

Address verification confirms that the delivery details attached to an order are complete, correctly formatted, and reachable. In India this typically means checking that a 6-digit PIN code matches the stated city and state, that the locality and landmark are present, and that the mobile number is valid and reachable for the delivery agent. Accurate details at checkout are the single biggest lever on whether a parcel is delivered on the first attempt.

E-commerce logistics & address validation

Every shipment carries an address record created at checkout. When that record is incomplete — a missing flat number, a wrong PIN code, an unreachable phone — couriers attempt delivery, fail, re-attempt, and eventually return the parcel. Validating the address against the customer's own confirmation closes that gap before dispatch, which is why letting a customer confirm what's on file for their number is a simple, consent-respecting way to keep records clean.

RTO reduction technology

Return to Origin (RTO) — a parcel sent back undelivered — is one of the largest hidden costs in Indian direct-to-consumer commerce, especially for cash-on-delivery orders. RTO reduction combines address validation, OTP confirmation, and delivery-risk scoring to catch bad addresses early. A customer verifying their own number and confirming the address on file is the cleanest signal of all: it comes directly from the person the parcel is going to.

Frequently asked questions

Whose data can I look up?+

Only your own. Every search requires a one-time code sent by SMS to the exact number being looked up, so a record is revealed only to the person holding that SIM. You cannot look up anyone else's number.

How does the OTP consent gate work?+

You enter your mobile number, we send a 6-digit code to it, and you enter that code. Once verified, the app fetches the name and shipping address on file for that number from the connected order records. No verification, no result.

What data does it show?+

The customer name and shipping address that e-commerce order records hold against your number — the same details you would have entered at checkout. It helps you confirm what's on file and fix a wrong or outdated address.

Why does address accuracy matter for deliveries?+

In India, a large share of cash-on-delivery orders fail and Return to Origin (RTO) because of incomplete or incorrect addresses. Confirming the address on file reduces failed deliveries, re-attempts, and wasted logistics cost.

How much does it cost?+

New accounts get promotional credits to try it. After that, credit packs start at ₹99, payable by UPI, cards, or netbanking through Razorpay. Credits are only used when you reveal a record you've verified by OTP.

Is my payment secure?+

Payments are processed by Razorpay. The app never sees your card or UPI credentials, and credits are added to your account only after Razorpay confirms the payment server-to-server.
